Kotuku and Kereru class made speeches for the 2011 Waimea speech competition. Megan, Alisha, Liam & Tim made it through for the year 5's. The speeches had to be 3 to 5 minnutes long. Alisha won with her awesome speech about Australia, as she was born there. The year 6 winners were Charlotte Morris and Lydia Dunn. Charlottes speech was about types of parents. It was funny and Lydia's was about her ambition to learn and be a leader in sign language.
Tyler and Rick Muir were also finalists for the year 6's. Rick talked about sport and his football ambitions. Tylers speech was all about rugby.
